The LINCOLNSHIRE HOSPITALS BAND invites applications for the post of DIRECTOR OF MUSIC effective from 1st October 2008

This full-sized Brass Band is based at the Lincoln County Hospital.

Rehearsals are held each Monday and Friday from 7 till 9pm at the social club in St Anne's Road, Lincoln LN2 5QY.

This is a non-contesting band which nevertheless plays to a high standard and gives between 30 and 40 concerts a year over a wide area, principally for charitable causes.

NORTH LINCS. COMMUNITY CONCERT BAND urgently require instrumentalists

North Lincs. Community Concert Band urgently require: -
3 trumpet/cornet, 2 flute, 1 oboe, & 1 brass bass players.
We rehearse Thursday evenings, in Ashby, Scunthorpe.

NEWARK BRASS FESTIVAL - January 2009
Newark Brass Festival is now accepting entries to its national competition due to take place at Barnbygate Methodist Church, Barnbygate, Newark, Notts on January 24 and 25 2009.

Minimum standard is grade 5, any syllabus and the age limit is from 11 to 30. Competitors will be divided into three groups, grades 5 and 6, 7 and 8, and diploma and above. There will be prizes of £250 for the winner of each group. The three group winners will then play in the concert and the overall champion will receive a complete set of Denis Wick mutes, a concerto date with the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra at Lincoln's Drill Hall and the festival trophy.

CONVIVIUM MUSIC - Membership Secretary

Convivium Music need a (voluntary) Minutes Secretary:
to take notes at meetings, to circulate the board with minutes and agenda and to receive apologies

Main board meetings are scheduled for the evening 4 times a year in a member's house in Lincoln.

SOARING SKYWARDS - Harmony Singing Group led by Ba Wheeler

Every Monday (except Bank Holidays) from 7.30pm to 9.30pm in Bishop Grosseteste College Chapel, Newport, Lincoln. Come and release your voice and join in having a great time

Simple warm-ups lead easily into building confident technique through learning harmony by ear.
You can come when you can, this is an accessible 'drop-in' group that meets for pleasure rather than performance.

All you need is your instrument and a music stand to join a dedicated and friendly group of enthusiastic amateur musicians who meet to recapture the joys of playing together, but where the emphasis is very much on fun
