Amanda is much in demand as a leading exponent of contemporary
music and in 2000 started singing with Synergy Vocals
(www.synergyvocals.com)
who work exclusively on microphone. Since then she has performed
Steve Reich’s ‘Tehillim’ in the USA,
‘Music for Eighteen Musicians’ throughout
Europe, his new ‘digital video opera’ ‘Three
Tales’ world-wide during 2002 and 2003 to great critical
acclaim, ‘Proverb’, choreographed by William
Tuckett, danced by Adam Cooper and Yenaida Yanowsky at The Royal
Opera House, and Louis Andriessen’s ‘De Staat’
with The Los Angeles Philharmonia in March
2006. Recent engagements include the world premiere of ‘Daniel
Variations’ by Steve Reich, as part of his 70th birthday
celebrations at the Barbican in London and Carnegie Hall in
New York followed by a European tour. She sang in performances
of Berio’s ‘Sinfonia’ with The
St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, conducted by David Robertson
in the USA, in Liege conducted by Pascal Rophe and most recently
in January with the New York Philharmonic conducted
by Lorin Maazel.
Future engagements include Nono’s ‘Prometeo’
with Synergy Vocals at the Royal Festival Hall,
Louis Andriessen’s ‘La Commedia’
in Amsterdam, Steve Reich’s ‘Daniel Variations’
in Japan, Xenakis’ ‘Nuits’ with Exaudi
at the Aldeburgh Festival and concerts with The Tallis
Scholars in Spain, Italy, Portugal and Bath.
On the lighter side Amanda sings on the soundtrack for the
films ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’,
‘Nanny McPhee’ and ‘V for Vendetta’
and on Björk’s album ‘Vespertine’.
