Bourne Choral Society, formerly the Abbey Consort of Bourne, was formed over thirty years ago.

The choir traditionally has sung many different major choral works such as Haydn's Creation, Handel's Messiah, the Nelson Mass, St John Passion, the Kodaly Mass and the Bach Mass in B minor as well as shorter works such as the Fauré Requiem, Mozart Requiem, Bach Magnificat, Haydn's Little Organ Mass, Vivaldi's Gloria and Stainer's Crucifixion.

Rehearsals
Monday 7.30 to 9.00 p.m.
Bourne Abbey Church, Bourne.
During term time

The choir usually gives at least three concerts each year, performing some traditional classical works usually in December and in March, and lighter works in a summer concert, although the trend recently has been for more lighter and popular music, which has proved successful in attracting larger audiences.
The December concert always includes some Advent and Christmas music. Additionally, the choir sometimes performs at other venues to raise funds for good causes, and members are also available to sing at weddings.

Website: www.bournechoralsociety.org/

The concert in April 2011 will be a performance of J H Maunder's Olivet to Calvary.

This is a friendly choir, and new voices are welcome in all parts. There is no audition.

We sing A Cappella, in unison, two, three and four part harmony, with a barbershop bias. Our repertoire includes old & new songs, ballads, popular, rock'n'roll, gospel, folk, songs from films and shows, religious, Christmas & traditional.

In 2010 we were successful in competition having been awarded three trophies at the Cleethorpes Festival of Words and Music - Best Choral Group in the Festival and Barbershop

Our main objectives are to enjoy making beautiful harmonies and be active in the community -

The Isle of Axholme Choral Society was founded in 1981 with a group of around twenty singers who came together to give performances for friends and subscribers.
The Society has grown both in numbers and stature and 25 years later we have approximately 40 members.
The Choral Society has four main concert venues. The parish churches of St Nicholas at Haxey, St Martin's at Owston Ferry, St Andrew's at Epworth and also the Wesley Memorial Methodist Church at Epworth.
We aim to produce at least three Concerts per year with dates arranged near Easter, mid-summer and near Christmas.
The Easter Concert is our major performance with a compliment of a full professional symphony orchestra and soloists. The Summer Concert is of a lighter nature with extracts from operettas and rousing choruses from the Proms; and the Christmas concert with seasonal music.

The Society is affiliated to "Making Music" and sponsored by "Awards for All".

Subscriptions are £50.00 per annum or 3 x £20 payments.
No audition is required and membership is open to all ages and abilities
– with an ability to read music helpful but not essential

The choir was formed in 2004 and has already built up a strong reputation in the county. There are 4 or 5 day rehearsals during the year as well as a residential weekend course in Horncastle. It has also been on a successful foreign tour in 2005 to Czech Republic, Poland and Germany.

Entry to the choir is by annual small-group audition in March and applications need to be submitted in January for membership for the following academic year.

The Lincoln Singers started life as the acting voluntary choir for Lincoln Cathedral.
It now operates as an ad hoc choir visiting cathedrals and notable churches around the country, singing services, often for whole weekends, and occasionally performing recitals.

Rehearsals are planned according to the needs of the group. Members need to have experience and good reading/learning abilities.

Contact the conductor.
